What's on this agenda
The Orange County Advisory Board on Aging takes up year-three progress on the 2022-27 Master Aging Plan, covering housing, social participation and outdoor spaces, and reviews FY2025-26 budget updates that include two new grants for food boxes and home repair. The agenda also previews Medicare Open Enrollment, which opens October 15, and notes a still-vacant board seat on the plan's Employment workgroup.

Meeting recap
What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes
The board approved its August 12 minutes and heard that a revised state funding formula cut Home and Community Care Block Grant funding by $7,600; the Aging division will absorb the difference rather than ask Senior Services or Social Services to cover it. Staff also reported two new grants: $34,430 for food boxes for clients with cognitive impairment, and $56,627 plus $62,000 in Master Aging Plan funds for a Choosing Home Repair program run with the Housing Department. The takeaway lunch program was extended two weeks to transition homebound participants to Meals on Wheels of Orange County.
Leiha Edmonds reported that year three of the Master Aging Plan reached 83% of its 188 indicators as in progress or complete, though data from the paused Employment workgroup remained pending. Jackie Podger agreed to join that workgroup, and Mary Lucas joined Community Health and Support Services. About 250 to 300 people attended a September 7 open house at the Seymour Center.
How the votes went
The board approved its August 12 minutes without recorded objection; no other formal votes appear in the record.
