What's on this agenda

Pittsboro's Planning Board took up a rezoning request for 102 Park Drive that staff had recommended denying, a preliminary plat for the Reeves Farm subdivision with $500,000 in recreation fees and 50 acres of dedicated land, and the South Village Small Area Plan. The board also considered UDO changes on planning board ETJ representation and the recreation fee-in-lieu schedule.

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The board approved the recreation fee-in-lieu changes and the ETJ representation provisions for the Unified Development Ordinance without discussion. On the 102 Park Drive rezoning, PB-23-358, the board broke from staff's recommended motion to deny: after hearing from applicant representatives Jan Nichols and Randy Voller, it voted 6-1 to recommend approval and adopt a land-use-plan consistency statement supporting it, with Allen Wilson dissenting. The board unanimously recommended the Board of Commissioners approve the Reeves Farm major subdivision preliminary plat, including $500,000 in fees paid in lieu of recreation land plus dedication of 50.53 acres, both due before final plat approval. Rather than act on the South Village Small Area Plan that night, the board voted to table it to its October 20 meeting and discussed scheduling a separate workshop on it for late September or early October.

How the votes went

All motions passed 7-0 except the 102 Park Drive rezoning recommendation, which passed 6-1 with Allen Wilson voting against recommending approval.
