What's on this agenda

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

Staff credited the Seymour Center and local churches for the cold weather beds. HOME American Rescue Plan money will go to tenant-based rental assistance, paying landlords part of the rent directly, aimed at people who are unsheltered, at risk, or fleeing domestic violence, with unsheltered people first. The Long Time Homeowner tax assistance programme served 594 residents.

On the consolidated plan, the board reviewed five possible categories: acquisition, new construction, repair and rehabilitation, tenant-based rental assistance, and down payment assistance. Repair and rehabilitation and tenant-based rental assistance drew the most interest in community engagement, both aimed at households at or below 30 percent of area median income. Members noted that new construction would need a much larger source of money.

The board elected a secretary, planned a May meeting with local developers, and discussed co-hosting a public meeting on housing and community relations with the Human Relations Commission. The October minutes had not been circulated and go to the next meeting.

How the votes went

Two motions carried: electing a secretary and adjourning. The October minutes were held over because they had not been circulated.
