Orange County's affordable housing advisory board spent most of its February 10 meeting reviewing its last community meeting and planning the next one at the Marian Cheeks Jackson Center. Members said letting residents ask questions during the presentation worked well and want to repeat it, and discussed adding a sign-in option and name tags so attendees can identify board members.

Staff updates covered the Longtime Homeowner Assistance Program, which closed out the year having provided a little over $500,000 across Orange County, Chapel Hill and Carrboro, and continued work on a cold-weather shelter for homeless residents that had to move to the Seymour Center to also serve as a daytime warming center. Staff also said project-based housing vouchers, which carry a 20-year landlord contract, should go online early next year.
