What's on this agenda

Pittsboro's Board of Commissioners took up a ten-item consent agenda including a Reeves Farm annexation petition, a purchasing policy update, and several budget amendments, then held a public hearing on financing with the Local Government Commission and voted on an installment loan for FY 2025-2026. The board also received a Town Hall feasibility study, a Small Area Plan staff presentation, and requests on a Welcome Center, a new Town Hall building project, and a Pop-Up Park lease.

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The board adopted the agenda and the full consent agenda unanimously, 5-0. It opened and closed a public hearing on Local Government Commission financing without anyone signing up to speak, then adopted the authorizing resolution 5-0, and separately approved installment-loan financing terms from Truist Bank and a budget amendment to purchase property at 274 Pittsboro Elementary School Road, both 5-0. After hearing the Town Hall feasibility study from Hobbs Architect and Frank Land Design, the board recessed and reconvened at 7:45 p.m. for a detailed Small Area Plan presentation from the assistant planning director. The board voted 5-0 to authorize the town manager to issue an RFQ for the new Town Hall's design and construction, and 5-0 to have the manager pursue a request-for-proposals process for a Pop-Up Park concessions lease. It discussed, without voting, financial support for the town's Welcome Center. The board then went into and came out of closed session on a personnel matter and to consult the town attorney, and adjourned at 10:58 p.m., all 5-0.
