    Speaker : Scot Berry, Town Manager’s Office Executive Summary: Cary has provided information technology support to Central Pines Regional Council (CPRC) since 2019 and, as part of that partnership, purchased various technology assets on CPRC’s behalf. If returned to Cary, the equipment would be considered surplus. Conveying the equipment to CPRC will allow the organization to continue operations as it transitions to a new information technology support provider. Council approval is required for the conveyance of property between government units.   9. 5. Disposal of Surplus Personal Property $30,000 or More

    Speaker : Ryan O’Dell, Manager of Purchasing and Contracts Executive Summary: North Carolina law requires Council to declare property as surplus and authorize its disposal when the property is valued at $30,000 or more. Cary has five assets that have reached the scheduled maturity criteria and are ready to be declared surplus. The sale of these items is expected to generate approximately $150,000 in revenue for the Town. Recommendation : Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached “Resolution Authorizing a Sale of Items of Surplus Property.”
  10. 6. 25-A-09 Jacobs Creek

    Speaker: Rachel Smith, Planning and Development Services Executive Summary: The owner of property located at 4312 Jacobs Creek Lane has petitioned for annexation of the property so the site may connect to Cary utilities in association with a request to rezone (25-REZ-16) for a maximum of 16 detached dwellings. Pursuant to statute, the town clerk has determined the petition to be sufficient, and Council must now call for a public hearing on the request.  Associated Case: 25-REZ-16 Jacobs Creek Rezoning               Recommendation: That Council adopt the attached resolution calling for a public hearing on June 11, 2026.

    Speaker: Stacey Teachey, Town Manager’s Office Executive Summary : On May 14, 2026, Cary’s interim town manager presented the Recommended Fiscal Year 2027 Budget to Council at a quarterly meeting. N otification of public input opportunities was conducted through a variety of channels and included publishing articles in the BUD newsletter, incorporating information on Cary’s website, and using social media as a reminder.
