Ferrell Road in Chatham County have petitioned for annexation of the properties associated with a rezoning request for initial Cary zoning (25-REZ-04) to develop a maximum of 230 detached dwellings with a minimum lot size of 10,000 square feet and to connect to Cary utilities. The property at 310 Barbee Road is contiguous to the corporate boundary, and 974 W. Ferrell Road is noncontiguous to the corporate boundary; as such, the annexation for the former must be processed as a contiguous annexation, and the latter as a satellite annexation.     Speaker : Scot Berry, Town Manager’s Office Executive Summary: NP South Hills LLC has petitioned Council to create the South Hills Municipal Service District to foster the revitalization of an area that consists primarily of outdated and underutilized industrial, retail, and general commercial buildings. If created, an additional property tax could be levied in the Municipal Service District to be used to provide services, facilities, or functions in addition to or to a greater extent than provided in the rest of Cary.     Speaker : Jimmy Simpson, Public Works Executive Summary: During the repair of the Walnut Street Parking Deck, Cary constructed a gravel parking lot for overflow and construction vehicle parking on adjacent property owned by Academy Park Commercial LLC. Per the amendment to the Downtown Development Project Agreement with Academy Park Commercial LLC approved by Council June 26, 2025 , Cary is permitted to maintain the gravel lot until a new building is constructed on that site, provided visual and safety upgrades are made.
