Wake County's school board policy committee works through seventeen policies on 25 August, most of them procurement: minority business enterprise participation in construction contracts and its implementing regulations, historically underutilised business participation, purchasing requirements, bidding for construction work, the bidders' and vendor lists, prequalifying construction bidders, and professional services selection.

It also takes the equity policy, the two policies on instructional materials and objections to them, religious-based exemptions from school programmes, child nutrition services, contracts with the board, and the due process regulations. These go on to the full board for first reading the following week.
