What's on this agenda

Wake County's school board takes first readings of fourteen board policies on 1 September, eleven of them on how the district buys things: the bidders' list, vendor lists, prequalifying construction bidders, professional services selection, and minority business enterprise participation in construction contracts. Policy 6220 on child nutrition services is moved to action the same night rather than held for a second reading.

The other three readings are not about procurement. Policy 1150 is the district's equity policy, 3200 and 3210 govern how instructional materials are selected and how a parent objects to one, and 3510 covers religious-based exemptions from school programmes. Construction business includes bids for a fire alarm replacement at Oak Grove Elementary, a guaranteed maximum price on North Garner Middle, and an option giving Lennar Carolinas sewer and construction easements across district land.
