Pittsboro's Downtown Advisory Board recommends downtown spending to the town's Board of Commissioners rather than deciding it. This month it considers a $5,000 add-on to the sponsorship it already recommended for the Holly Days Tree Lighting Celebration. The Pittsboro Business Association is asking for a roughly 50-drone show, staged from the soccer fields south of Horton Middle School. The money would draw on about $4,000 left over from a rescheduled Summer Fest, plus the rest of the event budget. Staff would look at adding a Pittsboro logo to the display.

Nine of eleven voting members attended, with Tiana Thurber arriving at 5:15 p.m. The board excused the absences of Greg Stafford and Chevon Moore, adopted the agenda and approved the October 7 minutes, each by an 8-0 vote.

Assistant Planning Director Theresa Thompson told the board the Pittsboro Business Association is still asking for the extra $5,000 for the drone show at the Holly Days Tree Lighting Celebration. The minutes record no vote on the request. The board adjourned at 6:09 p.m., 9-0.
