Apex Town Council meets in regular session with land use taking up most of the evening. Five annexations are up for public hearing, covering roughly 35 acres in all, and one of them at 3305 Olive Chapel Road is paired with its own rezoning. A town-wide amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance is also up for hearing, which is the item with the broadest reach: it changes the rules that apply to development everywhere in Apex rather than to one parcel. The Apex Light Industrial Phase III rezoning was pulled and will be re-advertised.

The consent agenda carries two more rezonings, a resolution of intent to borrow through limited obligation bonds with a hearing set for 22 September, recreation pricing changes, and a speed hump in Dogwood Ridge. The clerk brings a new process for appointing residents to advisory boards, along with appointments to five boards including the Planning Board.
