Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

Hillsborough's train station money was reserved for bus stop improvements and may be redirected if a multimodal facility is confirmed; the project is delayed by railroad approvals. The Ridgewalk greenway seeks $2 million over five years, with a proposal to spread the cost between FY26 and FY28. GoTriangle is increasing its vehicle purchasing programme to expand the fleet and continuing work on a Triangle mobility hub. Carrboro's South Greensboro Street sidewalk will use federal match and seek state reimbursement, the West Main Street sidewalk is complete apart from a missing pedestrian link, and new bus stop amenities are planned. Chapel Hill asked for six DC fast chargers for seven new electric buses arriving in FY26.

On how new projects get in, the group agreed that transit connectivity has to be demonstrated for every proposal, and discussed whether new projects should be weighed against previously unfunded ones. Staff also want partners to say which projects will close out this year so the fund balance is known before the work programme is drafted; GoTriangle's light rail project may close out this fiscal year.

How the votes went
