What's on this agenda
The Board of Equalization and Review met to hear property tax appeals from owners who disagreed with the county's 2025 revaluation of their land. Two hearings were scheduled, at 1:00 and 2:30 PM, in the training conference room at West Campus. The board is the county's appeal body: an owner who cannot settle a valuation with the tax office argues it here before going to the state Property Tax Commission.

Meeting recap
What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes
The board heard four appeals in 49 minutes and accepted the county's figure in every one. Three were requests to lower a home's assessed value on comparable sales or the property's condition; the tax office had already revised its own number downward in each, and the board adopted the revised figure rather than the owner's. A townhouse assessed at $331,800 was set at $309,600 against an owner's opinion of $300,000. A basement-level unit assessed at $627,800 was set at $565,000 against $550,000. A property assessed at $257,500 was set at $252,700 against an owner's opinion of $110,000. The fourth was not one property but a pricing rule: the board accepted the county's recommendation to adjust AC-9 land pricing to $110,000 for the first acre, down from $125,000. Only one of the four owners appeared. Three of the nine board seats were filled, all by regular members; six alternates were absent.
How the votes went
Four decisions, each on a motion by one regular member and a second by the other, with no recorded opposition. Every decision adopted the county's value.
