Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

Ten appeals in 82 minutes, eight of them ending on a value the county had already revised downward and two on no change at all. As at the board's other 2025 sittings, none landed on the owner's own figure.

The grounds owners gave were varied: the age of a home, incorrect data on the property record card, a 1984 purchase price set against the 2024 tax value, an awkward floor plan, the condition of a house, the value of a neighbouring property, average annual increases in home prices, and estimates from real estate sources. Values ran from $97,100 to $1,306,900. The one decision that went beyond adopting a number reclassified a building's type to single family residence, which produced a revised value of $859,900.

Staff noted no meetings were scheduled for the week of 30 June to 4 July, and that the 10 July sitting would start at 2:30 PM.

How the votes went

Ten decisions, each on a motion and a second with no recorded opposition. Eight adopted the county's revised value, two left the assessment unchanged, and one of the eight also reclassified the building type.
