The Chatham County Schools board renewed most of its outside partnerships for 2026-27 at its 1 June meeting. Memoranda with Communities in Schools, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Carolina, the Hispanic Liaison, Spark NC, the county health department and the Department of Social Services were all on the agenda, along with the Teach Chatham scholarship agreement and requests to use yellow school buses.

The board also took up the third amendment to the 2025-26 budget, a request to surplus property, the local plan application for career and technical education covering 2026 through 2028, and updates on Opportunity Culture, mental health and the UNC Tar Heel Business Academy. The rest of the evening was recognitions: the parent and educator advisory councils, a state music education award, a congressional art competition, a state athletics championship, and the monthly character and staff awards. The board met in closed session beforehand on student records, personnel and a matter with its attorney.
