Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The committee adopted its agenda and its June 25 minutes without objection, with no public comment. After touring The Cary Theater, members reviewed the Lazy Daze festival, where good weather drew an estimated 55,000 attendees; the new Kids Collector Market sold 300 pieces of youth-made art for $1,560, donated to the Play It Forward Scholarship Fund, and a new Park and Ride at South Hills doubled ridership over last year. Members suggested including the Inclusive Art Market in the festival's jury process. On new business, members discussed a draft survey for evaluating cultural arts nonprofit grant applicants and suggested it ask how many times an organization has applied. The Amphitheatre Advisory Committee liaison reported Koka Booth has been very busy, with volunteer orientations starting in spring.
