Senior Center staff walked the board through new programs (a plant exchange, suicide-prevention and timely-topics sessions), special events including Scam Jam and the Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair, and community partnerships such as a Rotary Clubs Memory Café, the Dementia Alliance of NC, and a new mental-health partnership with UCA Waves. Members discussed the FY26 budget's effect on programming, rental fees, and senior demographics. Staff said the center's 25th anniversary will be celebrated Oct. 6-10 with displays and a luncheon Oct. 8.

Staff liaison Michelle Barrett reported on a Caregiving movie preview event and the opening of The Blair memory care facility, and said Wake Forest's senior center is now town-run rather than operated by Resources for Seniors. The council liaison said Cary's town council approved a $510.9 million FY26 budget on June 26 and that a new traffic signal is coming to High House Road and Bond Park Drive at the entrance to Bond Park.
