Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting.

This is the meeting that set up the decision the county commissioners took on 16 June. The county's 2022 partnership with the provider was worth about $10 million and aimed at roughly 6,370 homes; the scope was cut to 5,852 in autumn 2025, 5,859 locations were completed, and about $800,000 of federal pandemic recovery money remained against a December 2026 spending deadline.

An hour on the mapping is how a task force answers the only question that matters at that point: which specific addresses are still without service, and which of them can be reached before the money expires. The answer it arrived at was 105 more locations in two areas, funded in three instalments tied to conduit construction and then fibre splicing and network acceptance, with all work due by 1 November 2026.
