What's on this agenda

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

All four appeals scheduled for the Aug. 13 session were heard, and the board decided three, continuing the fourth. Thomas Anthony Pasquini, Steven Gordon and Ethan Fogleman each ended up with a lower assessment after county appraisers revised their own figures in response to comparable-sales data, a site inspection and photographic evidence. Combined, those three properties' assessed value fell from $1,557,400 to $1,412,800, a reduction of $144,600.

ADJA Group LLC's appeal of its $230,300 assessment on 517 Lancaster Road was continued so the company could submit comparable sales data, after county appraiser Louise Benson-Lochner said a July site visit found no basis for a reduction. Counting that property at its unchanged value, the four appeals heard totaled $1,787,700 in assessed value going in and $1,643,100 coming out.

How the votes went

Pasquini's reduction to $960,700 was moved by Saru Salvi and seconded by Richal Vanhook. ADJA Group LLC's continuance was moved by Leon Meyers and seconded by Salvi. Gordon's reduction to $95,200 and Fogleman's reduction to $356,900 were each moved by Vanhook and seconded by Salvi. Meyers cast the recorded vote in favor each time, and the board's three voting members, Meyers, Salvi and Vanhook, decided every motion unanimously with no dissent.
