Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

Ten property owners appealed their 2025 revaluation values to the Board of Equalization and Review on October 29. Seven attended their hearings in person or by phone; the board ruled on the other three from the record alone. The board reduced nine of the ten assessments and left one unchanged. That moved the combined disputed value from $4.24 million to $3.80 million, a $443,000 cut. Reductions ranged from $15,000 to $94,300. Appellants cited comparable sales, property condition, access and septic limitations, and resale restrictions on a Habitat for Humanity home.

A consent list added seven more adjustments already negotiated between owners and staff, covering land, grade and appraisal corrections and two accessory-dwelling reclassifications. Those properties fell from a combined $8.95 million to $7.88 million, a $1.07 million reduction.

How the votes went

All three board members present unanimously approved every item; the minutes record no votes against any appeal or the consent list.
