Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The board reduced ten of the sixteen contested assessments, left five unchanged and raised one by $100. County site visits and sales analyses drove most of the changes, adjusting grade, condition or land factors. Combined, the sixteen properties' assessed value fell from about $9.9 million to about $9.42 million, a drop of roughly $479,000, with individual reductions ranging from $1,400 to $110,900. The board cut a parcel near Mafolie Court for a power-line easement and Interstate 40 noise. It left a Macrae Court home and a Dove Street property near a flood plain at the county's value.

The board also granted a $230.18 penalty compromise to a veterinary business over unlisted equipment. It revised five individually owned parcels on the consent agenda and granted or reduced property-tax exemptions for three companies: ECP CH West End LLC, FBRT 86 North Owner LLC and West Village Acquisition LLC.

How the votes went

All board actions, including the consent-agenda rescission, the 17 individually heard appeals, and the eight-parcel consent agenda, passed unanimously among the three-member panel of Barbara Levine, Saru Salvi and Richal Vanhook, with no votes recorded against.
