What's on this agenda

The Orange County Board of Elections meets to act on overseas absentee ballots received after the November 4 municipal election. It also takes up certification of the supplemental absentee ballots cast to date.

Meeting recap

What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes

The board disapproved one overseas absentee ballot after the voter confirmed never having lived in North Carolina. It approved two other overseas ballots after the bipartisan review required for ballots transcribed onto paper for the tabulator.

Staff ran the two approved ballots through the tabulator. The board verified the opening tape read zero and signed the results tapes for certification at canvass. It also signed the supplemental absentee abstract for the state board.

How the votes went

Four unanimous motions: approving three sets of minutes (Cox/Sims), disapproving one overseas ballot under the state numbered memo (Cox/Mebane), approving two overseas ballots after bipartisan review of the transcriptions (Cox/Kolbinsky), and adjourning.

From the published minutes.
