What's on this agenda
A joint meeting of the county commissioners with both school boards, running to 9:24 PM. Each district presents its budget alongside performance and state accountability data and an update on career and technical education, then the budget director presents the recommended capital investment plan. The agenda was built collaboratively at the standing school collaboration meetings.

Meeting recap
What happened, drawn from the records published after the meeting. Minutes
The chair opened by acknowledging that all the elected boards in the room are facing difficult times, and stressing collaboration and open communication with the public. That is the framing a county uses when it knows it cannot fund what the districts are asking for.
Pairing each district's budget request with its performance and accountability data in the same presentation is a deliberate structure: it makes the districts answer for results in the same breath as they ask for money. Career and technical education gets its own slot in both.
The capital plan is organised into three parts - major projects meaning new builds, high priority needs at existing facilities, and other capital uses where the funding is less restricted. That third category is where discretion lives, and the pay-as-you-go school capital argument that ran through the year turned on exactly that kind of money.
The meeting closes with an observation about leadership under pressure.
