DESCRIPTION:Town Council\n\nMorrisville's council decides Tuesday whether Wake County may build the West Wake Solid Waste Facility at 414 Aviation Parkway. The hearing opened on September 8 and stays open for the vote. The special use permit covers about 13.71 acres east of Aviation Parkway and International Drive\, land that now holds the town's public works office\; a 2024 permit paired the county convenience center with that public works facility\, and the county's operation has since grown to take the whole site. This is a quasi-judicial hearing\, so members may weigh only evidence entered under oath. Staff note the county will not have to build the Aviation Parkway improvements the transportation plan calls for\, because a funded project already exists there and the applicant is a government agency.\n\nStaff also give the council its fourth update on the comprehensive transportation plan\, which will guide spending through 2045.
