SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Regular Town Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nApex's town council had final rezoning ordinances on consent for three cases the council already approved in September: 1211 Old Raleigh Road for up to three residential lots (approved 3-2)\, the Veridea Expansion 3 sustainable-development district on E. Williams Street (approved 5-0)\, and the Jessie Drive Industrial rezoning tied to a 51.822-acre annexation on E. Williams Street (approved 4-1). Council also planned to purchase and relocate the sculpture "Prismatic Cyclone" to Pleasant Park for $14\,000 and fill six advisory board vacancies.\n\nOther consent items included a multi-year Spectrum network services agreement\, a mutual aid agreement with Wake County emergency management\, and a $2\,858.65-per-unit fee-in-lieu payment for The Groves at West Village. The council also planned to enter closed session to discuss pending litigation\, Dawn Cozzolino v. Town of Apex.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-a6fa318b997f4bedbf6b72a6af5bc03b.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/556

SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Regular Town Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nApex's Town Council has a dense agenda built around the Veridea development. Four of the seven public hearings amend town plans specifically to accommodate Veridea: the transportation plan's thoroughfare/collector and bicycle/pedestrian maps\, the transit plan map\, the environmental enhancement plan\, and a rezoning case adjusting Veridea's site development plan. The council also holds public hearings on a new annexation at 1000 Classic Road\, a developer-requested closure of part of Walden Road\, and November's batch of Unified Development Ordinance text amendments.\n\nThe 22-item consent agenda includes two more development-related rezonings (Hopson Gateway PUD and Veridea Expansion IV)\, three more annexations\, sidewalk and intersection agreements with NCDOT and Holly Springs\, multi-year contracts for traffic control and stormwater utility repair\, an 11-year solid-waste collection contract running through 2036\, a $200\,000 state grant for the Reedy Branch Greenway trail\, and Board of Adjustment and Planning Board chair appointments. New business includes a construction contract award for the Salem Streetscape project and a public records program overview.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-68869fc8fe954895a63beaa49199ad40.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/551

SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Regular Town Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nApex's council has a heavy 16-item consent agenda plus five public hearings\, mostly rezonings\, annexations\, and infrastructure contracts. Consent items include a utility-infrastructure reimbursement agreement for a Veridea Parkway waterline\, a transit service agreement amendment with Cary/MV Transportation for GoApex Sunday service\, an annexation on Olive Chapel Road\, several road-project contract amendments\, the first budget public hearing for FY2026-27 (scheduled for Jan. 27)\, a rezoning statement/ordinance and environmental plan amendments tied to the Veridea development\, and three board appointments (Board of Adjustment\, Environmental Advisory Board\, Planning Board). One consent item\, a parking-redesign ordinance for the Saunders Lot\, was pulled from this agenda.\n\nThe five public hearings pair annexations with related rezoning cases for three properties (New Hill Olive Chapel Road\, Castleberry Road\, and a Summit Apex parcel on Humie Olive Road)\, plus a standalone rezoning on Old US 1 Highway and continued Unified Development Ordinance amendments. The council also issues proclamations for Human Trafficking Prevention Month and MLK Jr. Commemoration Weekend\, and closes with three closed-session items\, two for attorney-client privileged matters and one to protect confidential/non-public records.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-26c1328cfb914a4dab0b7efaea6552c9.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/549

SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Regular Town Council Meeting | Electronic
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nApex held this Town Council meeting electronically because of hazardous winter road conditions. The revised agenda notes that council would act only on the consent agenda\, and that all five public hearings were expected to be pushed to February 10: an annexation on Olive Chapel Road\, the first of two hearings on the FY 2026-27 operating budget\, electric time-of-use rate changes\, a rezoning at 0 Smith Road\, and a set of Unified Development Ordinance amendments. No public comment was taken during the electronic session.\n\nThe consent agenda carries four annexation petitions\, including one for land tied to Peak City Church on Old US 1 Highway\, plus a rezoning ordinance for a 55 Auto Group site\, a $2.1 million state flood-resiliency grant award\, and a policy change barring firearms\, tobacco\, vape and CBD sales or giveaways at town-sponsored community events.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-bcdf9bbe240044eba4ff56881c7b1419.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/547

SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Regular Town Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nTwo items outside the routine flow of business stand out. The council will consider a one-year moratorium on data center construction in Apex\, proposed by Mayor Pro Tem Terry Mahaffey\, alongside a related proposal from Mayor Gilbert to form a committee to research impacts and make policy and transparency recommendations. The council also holds public hearings on the town's electric fee schedule (tied to detached-garage service)\, two small annexations (Jenks Road\, Green Level Church Road)\, and the opening of the FY2026-27 operating budget hearing.\n\nThe 16-item consent agenda includes a rezoning denial for Apex Baptist Church\, two annexations tied to rezoning cases\, several water/sewer and electric utility contracts\, an ordinance updating stop-and-yield traffic signage\, and UDO amendment paperwork. Three proclamations are on the agenda (Ask Apex Day\, Regional Creek Week\, Women's History Month)\, along with three board appointments (Board of Adjustment\, Environmental Advisory Board\, Planning Board) and a closed session for attorney-client consultation.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-46148cc140974cbe9efcbdb612542284.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/540

SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Regular Town Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nApex's town council took seven public hearings on 24 March 2026\, most of them the same cases its planning board had reviewed two weeks earlier. Welch Homestead comes with both an annexation and a rezoning for up to 270 homes on about 83 acres north of Old US 1. Camp Branch Lane is a smaller rezoning off Holland Road\, and a third annexation covers two small parcels at 631 Wimberly Road.\n\nThree of the hearings deal with the Tingen Road railway crossing\, which closes when the Peakway Southwest connector bridge opens: the feasibility study for a pedestrian and cycle tunnel to replace it\, and two transportation plan amendments. The council also appointed the organizing board of directors for the Peak City Land Trust. Four closed sessions\, all on personnel\, were scheduled at the end.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-93c5cc793e77412f943cb32658159740.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/538

SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Regular Town Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nTwo public hearings stand out on an otherwise routine Apex council agenda: a proposed 12-month moratorium on accepting or approving new development applications for data centers\, cryptocurrency mining\, and related data-processing uses\, and the annual public hearing on the town's fiscal year 2026-27 operating budget. A third hearing covers a 2-acre annexation on Twin Creek Road\; a separate 5-acre annexation on the same road is moving through on the consent agenda as a distinct case.\n\nThe rest of the meeting is routine business: 17 consent items covering service agreements (solid waste consortium\, event vendors\, a wastewater flow-data contract)\, five annexations including a 120-acre tract tied to the large Veridea development\, a tax report\, and board appointments to the culture and arts\, transportation\, and parks and recreation advisory boards. A council member is sponsoring a resolution to create a task force on community resilience and wellbeing. Two items — a memorandum of understanding with NC Children's Hospital and an automated license plate reader program update — were pulled from the agenda before the meeting and did not come up for consideration.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-a15ff460a2124bfc982fccec92075906.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/537

SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Town Council Work Session - April 2026
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nA single item: updating the town council's own procedures and policies. The naming practices discussion the mayor led on 21 April was continued to the following work session on 30 April\, and the council's rules of procedure on advisory board appointments were amended twice in the months that followed - in June on the consent agenda and again as a standalone item.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-513efc7d83d240aea2eaa2d46cfc0f84.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/535

DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nApex's planning board heard two rezoning cases on 13 July: 26Z03\, an amendment to the Veridia special district covering a Wake Tech campus\, and 26CZ04 on Evans Road. SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Regular Town Council Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nLand use dominates. Five annexations move on the consent agenda and two more come to public hearing\, alongside two rezonings — one of them an amendment to the Veridea special district plan covering the Wake Tech Conlon campus\, which is the largest thing here by acreage and consequence.\n\nThe consent agenda is long and mostly contracts: on-call service agreements\, a yard waste contract with Liberty Waste\, an Axon agreement covering a drone program\, and a police training budget amendment. DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nA revised agenda for a 3:30 PM council work session\, with two closed sessions bracketing the public business. Both are called under the state statute covering the acquisition of real property\, which lets a council discuss the price and terms of land it may buy without saying in public what it is looking at.\n\nIn the open portion: an update on the 2026 Christmas parade route\, a billing and customer service update from the deputy town manager and the finance director\, and an overview of how residents are appointed to the town's advisory boards.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-83405370504843768f9f806d0f672d4c.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/522

SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Planning Board Meeting
LOCATION:Town Hall Council Chamber\, 73 Hunter Street\, Apex
DESCRIPTION:Planning Board\n\nApex's Planning Board takes up two rezoning cases and a change to how the town picks board members at its September 14 meeting. SUMMARY:Town of Apex: Town Council Work Session - September 2026
DESCRIPTION:Town Council and advisory boards\n\nThe Apex Town Council takes up a ballot-style voting process for advisory board appointments for a third time. Presentations at work sessions on August 18 and August 25 ran out of time before the council could finish. The process would apply across five boards - Culture and Arts\, Environmental\, Multimodal Transportation\, Parks and Recreation\, and Planning. The town has 69 applications on file for their regular\, youth and senior seats. The council is then anticipated to consider the appointments.\n\nSeparately\, the council would discuss which of the state League of Municipalities' proposed priorities for 2027-28 to emphasize. It could also name Mayor Pro Tem Terry Mahaffey\, who also serves on the League\, to submit the town's response. A yard waste program update from the public works department closes the work session\; the packet carries no supporting document for it.\n\nAgenda: https://mccmeetings.blob.core.usgovcloudapi.net/apexnc-pubu/MEET-Agenda-e68db64a552a4ad48def8bdc23eedd48.pdf\nWatch: https://www.youtube.com/@TownofApexGov/streams\nDetails: https://ncgovwatch.com/meetings/519
